You don’t need a big garden to attract frogs and newts: even an old tin bath will do – just remember to build a ladder for wildlife

There is nothing Kate Bradbury likes better than a pond. Could be an expansive lake or, as in this case, it could be just a metre wide hole in her mother’s garden. Even something that modest will attract insects and amphibians in abundance.
